1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you (the user or donor) and Cognitud Foundation ("Cognitud", "we", "our", "us"), a Section 8 Company registered in India with its registered office in Bengaluru, Karnataka. By accessing this website or making a donation, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Use of the website

Cognitud's website is provided for informational purposes. You agree to use the site only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe on the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else's use of the site.

• You will not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website.
• You will not use the site to transmit any unlawful, harmful, or offensive material.
• You will not impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person.

3. Donations

All donations to Cognitud Foundation are voluntary and made without expectation of any tangible return. By donating, you confirm that:

• The funds being donated are your own, sourced legally.
• You are at least 18 years of age and competent to enter into a contract.
• You authorise us to process the donation through our payment partners.
• The information you provide (name, email, address) is accurate.

Donations are processed by third-party payment processors (currently Razorpay). Your payment information is handled directly by them under their security and privacy standards. Cognitud does not store your card or banking details on our servers.

4. Tax exemption (80G)

Cognitud Foundation has applied for tax-exemption certification under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Once approved, eligible donations will receive an 80G receipt by email within 7 working days. Until 80G certification is granted, donations are gratefully received but not tax-deductible.

5. Intellectual property

All content on this website — text, images, logos, design — is the property of Cognitud Foundation or its licensors, and is protected by Indian and international copyright law. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or modify any content without our written permission.

6. Third-party links

Our site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those sites.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Cognitud Foundation shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of this website or your donation.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the website after a change constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

9. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
